These pieces were composed in 2016 in collaboration with Nick Papas, iconographic painter, as an exploration of our experiences with, and understanding of, Death. Nick's sister Diana had unexpectedly fallen asleep in the Lord, and this created the immediate motivation, but we found our discussions and expressions moving very far from this point, ranging into an exploration of Christ's passion, death and resurrection as well as the witness of his martyred saints;hence the question mark at the end of the thematic title. Is death really a darkness?
